The water of the Park shelters crocodiles, hippos and large flocks of pelicans. There is a diverse woodland which Includes acacia bushes, lakes and swamps. The bushes and vegetation in this park have attracted over 400 species of birds. Some of the game found in this Park is Leopard, lion, elephant, eland, roan and sable antelopes, southern reedbuck and topi inhabit the short grasses and thickets. Kitavi is also one of the largest herds of wild water buffalo, with as many as 1,600 animals. .
